Luciole – Baltic 2023
We are trying to get our act sorted for a possible trip to the Baltic & Norway…….some good tips regarding rubbing straik & mooring hooks, but just wondered if anyone has any photos to share of successful bow ladders? We’re a 365 but any examples would be much appreciated! -

My wife and I are sailing and living on our 455cc in the med, but we are from KIEL at the KIEL-CANAL and sailed all the way round of the Baltic.
So if someone needs information, he may call us. The Baltic is wonderful!

We anticipate Bohnholm around the beginning of September and then laying not sure where but possible Copenhagen. If you are still afloat then, it would be great to meet up.
Presently in Loviisa, Finland and awaiting less opposing winds. We dawdle so might not even make it to Denmark! -

Once east of Germany, supply of Campingaz becomes problematic.
We got a very cheap refill in Gdansk, Poland – ask at the harbour office.
We got an exchange in Tallinn, Estonia.
Once in Finland for an extended stay, I purchased a Finnish 2kg Flytgas cylinder and regulator from a supermarket. It contains propane rather than butane (better for the…[Read more]

Robin… Stephen told me it was neat antifreeze (ethylene glycol) and I believe that is the case. You could touch the liquid in the little tank to confirm that.
We did not drain it and suffered no problems.
Tony – still in St Petersburg

Robin… not aware ion any issues for rudder hydraulics. I am sure the neat antifreeze will suffice. But see my topic on engine coolant https://ovni-owners.org.uk/forums/topic/tip-on-engine-coolant-for-those-over-wintering-in-colder-climes/
You need to find somewhere safe for all water-based materials and supplies. This includes maintenance…[Read more]
