Six weeks into this new site

Six weeks have passed since this new site was launched. There are sixteen members from fourteen boats — some more active than others, which is to be expected.

There has been an interesting range of topics raised in the discussions and the value of these as a resource will increase as the number of topics and comments grow with time.

Only eight members have completed their profiles with details of their boat etc. If you have not, please do so. It is particularly useful to be able to see what model/rig etc. you have. To add or update this information, pull down on your ‘handle’ (top right, where it says How are you?) and select Edit my profile.

I find it really helps to have a face to put to a name, but just seven members have uploaded a profile picture. To add yours, pull down on your ‘handle’ (top right) and select Profile > Change profile photo.

Some of us have used the What’s new? feature to attach a brief update about current cruising activity to our profiles. It has emerged that two members have been in Portugese waters this summer. To update your What’s new? statement pull down on your ‘handle’ and select Activity > Personal and fill in the What’s new? field. If you do post information here, don’t forget to update or delete it as appropriate.

If you know of or have contact with Ovni owners who are not yet members, please encourage them to join. The value of the site will grow with the membership.

Happy sailing – Tony
