Hi all! (excuse my poor English, I’m French)
I am lucky to sail in scandinavia since 2013. I think there are 3 very useful tipsthe hook, 1 m long, open, to catch the ring of the buoys when bow-to
a bow ladder, attached to my Delta anchor system
50 m of nylon “tape” highly resistant, for kedge anchor or hookI don’t like to go between…[Read more]

Tony.
We are currently in Norseminde, Denmark. We arrived direct from Inverness to Goteborg mid May so our only passage through fresh water was two days in the Caladonian Canal.
Our experience so far has not been like yours. Our anodes look fine ( we too deploy a pendant at the bow) We have no build up of slime or fouling – in fact it looks much…[Read more] -

As far as I can tell, our zinc anodes are getting encrusted rather quickly. The discussion on anodes concluded that zinc should be OK in salt or brackish water, but not in fresh. The Baltic is regarded as brackish. We were in fresh water for only seven days (the Dutch canals and the Kiel Canal)
Inspection of the pendant bow anode is easiest…[Read more]

Hello Baltic Ovni’ists… We are presently in the Schlei and will be exploring up the Danish coast a bit but plan to be in Flensburg 15-17th June as we need to travel by car to the Netherlands for a wedding. Then heading east along German coast. Let us know if we may coincide anywhere.

Hi Tony
I’m currently in Santa Cruz, California, Racing in the contender class world championships. Your time scale looks tighter than mine !
I bought a ramp off eBay. If you search for ‘ aluminium motor bike ramp’ you will find one for £39.
You will see three red tangs at one end – I put two s/s u bolts in the outer tangs. To attach to the…[Read more] -

Tim… I am interested in your ramp. Can you give more details or point to the source? And how do you hang it on the cleats? Where do you stow it? Does it have to be lashed to the stanchions?
Also which mooring crook did you choose?
We sail on 1st May, subject to weather, and have little time for last minute purchases!
thanks, Tony
